CAN YOU GET AWAY FROM OUR COMMUNITY
“I’m going to have a trans woman week” “I’m going to have a non binary week” My ass All you do is fetishizes FTMs
Please stop. You are actively harming the trans male community. Your videos do nothing to promote actual acceptance and education about trans men and instead promote incorrect and inappropriate portrayals. Most trans men aren’t cute, skinny, pansexual British guys who date each other. I know the two people in the video stated they only speak for themselves but because across all of your ‘trans guy’ videos you only feature very similar guys, you’re projecting a narrow and unrealistic stereotype to your viewers.
Trans men are of all ages, races, body types, sexualities, nationalities, and states in transition. Most of us would prefer to live our lives without making waves, and to live as the men we are, free from both harrassment and unwanted attention - the last thing we need is some jumped up lesbian vlogger telling the wider world how to spot us in a changing room, or giving them incredibly narrow boundaries on what ‘trans man’ means.
You need to realise that just because the guys you collaborate with are OK with it, doesn’t mean that the wider community is OK as well. You collaborate with existing trans bloggers, who are probably looking to boost their own viewership through partnering with you. That’s OK, the internet is free for everyone to use how they like, but you are in a powerful position with your nearly 150,000 subscribers and you need to start acting responsibly, and try thinking about the needs of the thousands of trans guys who don’t feature in your videos.
I’m sorry, I have to be the asshole to say this, but I wonder what trans guy Alex is going to date next
